Obituary for Gerald J. “Jerry” Dugar On Sunday, May 20, 2018, Gerald J. Dugar (Jerry), a lifelong resident of Boothville, Louisiana, loosed the constraints of his earthly life and broke free from the bonds of time. Jerry was a private man and few were blessed to know his inner self. For those that were allowed in, his presence will be greatly missed.

Jerry was a United States Navy veteran and proudly served his country aboard the U.S.S. Currituck from 1962 until his discharge in 1967. He was employed as a diesel mechanic with Popich Bros. and Willie-Jane Inc. Jerry drove air boats with Air-Boats Inc. until he retired in 2011.

Jerry is preceded in death by his: Mother, Bessie Ellen Dugar (Spradley), his father, Paul Dugar, and his brother Robert Dugar. He is survived by his three daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Melissa Kay Dugar (Sara {Aiden, Gage, Jazlyn} and Carrie), Angela Dugar LeBoeuf (Ashley and Christopher), and Summer Ann Dugar (Elizabeth, Gabrielle and Alexandra). Jerry is also survived by his two sisters Irene Fowler (Russel) (Randol and Carol), and Louise Fowler (Fred deceased) (Bernadine, Sandra, Kimberly), as well as multiple generations of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There are also several who deserve mention as being especially close to Jerry: Duane D., Denise D., Andrew (Andy) D., Janice and Wayne B., Jacob P., Richie P., Collin T., Kobe T., Christian T., Kholstyn T., Chandra T., Brent F., Danny D., Sambo, Larry, and Silky. Jerry made his wishes clear and he did not want formal services. The family will hold informal memorial services, the dates of which will be determined at a later time.
