Gerald “Jerry” G. Hartford, 72, of Elmore, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 13, 2018. Jerry was born December 24, 1945, in Toledo, Ohio, to Jack and Hazel (Richardson) Hartford. He married Susan DeAntonio in Oregon, Ohio, on September 16, 1966.

Jerry proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1962-65 and was a member of the American Legion Post 888. He worked in maintenance at P & J Industries in Toledo retiring in… Read More » 2005. Jerry loved his family and enjoyed celebrating all of their successes.

He was also an animal lover. Being a handyman, Jerry was always fixing something and looked for a good challenge to make something broken work again! Throughout his life he liked to work on cars and woodworking in his shop.

In addition to his loving wife of 52 years, Susan, Jerry is survived by his son, Jerry (Wendy) Hartford, daughter, Lisa (John) Tolliver, and his grandchildren, Matthew, Marena, Amanda and Ashley. His parents preceded him in death. The family is planning a private celebration of Jerry’s life at a later date.

The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory of Genoa has assisted the family with arrangements. Memorials for Jerry may be given to the Ottawa County Humane Society, 2424 E. Sand Rd. , Port Clinton, OH 43452.
