Gerald L. Henry, 69 of Kalkaska, formerly of Pontiac died suddenly, September 19, 2018 at home. He was born February 13, 1949 in Pontiac the son of George and Ruby (Young). Jerry loved life.

He enjoyed woodworking, working in his yard, and watching animals. He loved to cook and bake and at Christmas time he was known for making 1600 cookies in 3 days to share with all his friends and family. Jerry also loved raising his “girls”; the chickens he built a mansion for and spent every day with for the last 6 years.

Jerry worked many years in underground construction and for the City of Pontiac water department. He then drove a beverage truck for several years after moving up north saying “retirement was the best job I’ve ever had”. On December 4, 1981 in Pontiac he married the love of his life and very best friend Debra Lynn Frantz who survives.

Also surviving are several other family members. He was proceeded in death by his parents and his sister Susie. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 24, at 11 a.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.

The family will receive family and friends on Sunday, September 23 from 2 to 4 p.m. also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Toys for Tots. Please sign Jerry’s online guestbook www.
