Obituary for Gerald J. Plec Gerald John Plec (Jerry) died at home in Las Cruces, New Mexico on December 19, 2018 at the age of 81. Jerry was born on July 2, 1937 in Hamtramck, Michigan to Edwin and Joann Plec. He attended grade school and high school at Shrine Little Flower in Royal Oak, Michigan and graduated from Eastern Michigan University on 1967.

He spent his career in Human Res consulting for several major corporations, and formed his own consulting firm in 1980. In his spare time, he lived in pursuit of the ultimate Las Vegas jackpot and the perfect streak. He married Frances Martin of Cupertino, California in 1970, and they had two daughters, Julie Carol Plec of Los Angeles, California and Casey Beth Plec, who died in 1986.

Jerry and Fran were divorced in 1983, but haven together as domestic partners since 1986. Jerry is survived by Fran and Julie Plex, his brother Robert Plec of Elephant Butte, New Mexico and his sister Kathleen Eberle of Metamora, Michigan. He is preceded in death by his parents and by his daughter Casey.
