Obituary for Gerald Bowell Gerald L. Bowell, age 96, of Abilene, passed away Friday, August 3, 2018 at the Village Manor Nursing Home in Abilene. He was born June 25, 1922 in Abilene the son of Walter and Irene (Dimond) Bowell. Gerald was a lifelong Abilene area resident graduating from Abilene High School.

On December 8, 1946 he was united in marriage to Marjorie Rissman in Salina. He and Marjorie farmed their entire life in the area. Survivors include his loving wife Marjorie of the home; sister Naomi Rider of Abilene, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Douglas, Donald, and Laron. The family of Gerald has selected cremation and there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dickinson County or to Village Manor and may be sent in care of the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home 414 NW 3rd, Abilene, Kansas 67410.
