Geraldine “Geri” Margaret (Richey) Bombay, age 71, of Red Lake, Minnesota went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 8, 2018. She was born in Red Lake, MN on July 27, 1946, the daughter of Anna (Beaulieu) and George Richey, Sr. Geraldine was born and raised in Red Lake, MN. She attended St. Mary’s Mission School, Marty Indian School and Red Lake High School.

In June of 1964 she married Marvin Yellow, Sr. and with this union had seven children. She later married Sam Bombay of Emo, Ontario, Canada and resided there as a dual citizen for thirty-four years. As an avid fan of Elvis Pressley, she had quite the collection of memorabilia and souvenirs and even had the opportunity to go to Graceland.

Overall, she enjoyed music of all genres including Alan Jackson and Bruno Mars. Geri simply loved the outdoors with traveling, going for walks, attending pow-wows and many concerts. Her favorite past times include playing bingo and going to the casinos, and as always visiting and making new friends.

She also loved taking extended vacations to South Dakota to visit her sister Julie. Geraldine had a magnetic energy and contagious sense of humor and a fun-loving and pleasant personality. Her loving adoration for her family and the countless friends she made through out her lifetime will be sadly and greatly missed by all.

Family that Geraldine is reunited with are her parents; Anna and George Richey, Sr., ex-husband; Marvin Yellow, Sr. and husband; Sam Bombay, daughter; Theresa Ann McGraw, six sisters and five brothers. Those left behind to cherish her memory are sons; Marvin Yellow, Jr., Donald Yellow both of Red Lake, Darin Yellow of Minneapolis and Melvin Yellow of Bemidji, daughters; Marian (Dave Jorgenson) Yellow and Susan (Floyd) Iceman both of Red Lake, step-son; Tony Bombay of Manitou Rapids, Ontario, Canada, step-daughter; Angela Bombay of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, brothers; William M. Richey and George M. Richey, Jr. both of Red Lake, sister; Juliana C. Williams of Veblen, SD, grandchildren; Sarah, Carmen and Valerie McGraw, Douglas and Clarence Yellow, Alicia Lyons, great grandchildren; Aliyah, Gabriel and Eli Norris, Miigis and Makoonz Lagou and Rylynn Lyons, Brett and Sammy Jo Lagarde and many friends and relatives. A wake for Geraldine will begin at 4:00 p.m., Monday, June 11th and continue until her 1:00 p.m. funeral service on Wednesday, June 13th all being held at the New Little Rock Community Center in Red Lake, MN.

Father Jerry Rogers will officiate. Pallbearers for Geraldine will be Marvin Yellow, Jr., Ralph “Bill” Thunder, Floyd “Buck” Jourdain, Arik Vann Williams, Terry E. Adams and Laurs Bryan Williams. Alternate pallbearers are Robert Thunder, John M. Jourdain and Larry Adams.

Her honorary pallbearers are Donald W. Yellow, Darin K. Yellow, Melvin L. Yellow, Herbert C. Thunder, Robert Bombay, Roddy Jourdain, Georgianna Jourdain, Patricia A. Jourdain, Linda McGraw Adams, Marian Yellow, Susan Iceman, Adelma Adams, Stephanie Williams, Rona Williams, Donna Williams, Karla E. Williams, Leona McGinnis, Beverly Wilson, Shirley Jourdain, Rose Morgan, Patrick Brown, Carol Brown, all her grandchildren and great grandchildren and the Medical Staff at Red Lake IHS Hospital and Fort Francis, Ontario, Canada. Interment will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at Red Lake, MN following her funeral services on Wednesday. Geraldine’s care has been entrusted to Northern Peace Funeral Home of Walker.
