Gerard Joseph LeCompte “Jerry” of Argyle, Texas was peacefully welcomed to eternal rest on Sunday, March 17th, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Jerry is survived by his wife, Kimberly LeCompte; son Gerard “Bud” LeCompte and wife Lynda of Pearland, Texas; daughter Constance LeCompte of Durango, Colorado; daughter Kami McGee and husband B.J. of Argyle, Texas; son Keith Marcom and wife Leslee of Coppell, Texas; adoring grandchildren Sam Warren, Dex Warren, Kurtis LeCompte, Luke Marcom, Maggie McGee, Lilly Ann Marcom, and Lane Marcom; sister Carole Anne Friedrich and husband Duane of Gulfport, Mississippi; sister Lea Anderson and husband John of New Orleans, Louisiana; brother Benjamin and wife Janet of Friendswood, Texas; the mother of his oldest children, Carol Ardizone of Beaumont, Texas; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by parents Calvin LeCompte and Marion LeCompte of New Orleans, Louisiana.

Known to most as “Captain Jerry,” he was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on December 1, 1942 to Calvin and Marion. He graduated from Fortier Senior High School in 1960, and then earned a degree in Economics from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1964. After moving to Houston, Jerry ventured into various business endeavors and became quite the skilled businessman and entrepreneur for the next decades.

In his spare time, he frequently flew his plane to Port Isabel/South Padre Island where he enjoyed fishing in Laguna Madre and subsequently obtained his US Coast Guard Captain’s License. There, he made his first attempt to retire but was soon back in business in Houston using his expertise to start and grow yet another successful business. Jerry later retired again and moved to Argyle, Texas where he enjoyed the rolling hills, beautiful trees, and abundant wildlife.

Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, April 13th at 2:00 p.m. at Flower Mound Family Funeral Home located at 3550 Firewheel Dr. in Flower Mound, Texas. A second Celebration of Life will be held on April 15th at 10:00 a.m. at Sagemont Church Chapel located at 11300 S. Sam Houston Pkwy E. in Houston, Texas. Jerry had a passion for helping others, so in lieu of flowers donations may be made to dysautonomiainternational.org.
