OBITUARY Gertrud Helga Smith February 25, 1941 – November 30, 2018 Gertrud Helga Smith, 77, entered into rest at her home on Friday, November 30, 2018. She was born in Frankfurt, Germany, to Paul and Rosa Stöth. She married and began a family, and she is survived by her three sons, Paul, Robert, and James.

One of her proudest achievements was becoming an American citizen. She took her citizenship in Granite City, IL. She was also a retiree of the Kendall Co., where she worked for 28 years.

Mom was our rock, and she will be sorely missed. Survivors include her loving sons, Paul Smith, Robert Smith, and James Smith; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Augusta, GA.
