Gertrude F. Zima, 89, of Butler passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Concordia Lutheran Ministries. Born May 21, 1929 in Lyndora, she was a daughter of the late Frolis and Mary Brovnyak Miklosovic. She was employed by International Staple as a book keeper in the Accounts Receivable Department for 25 years.

She had previously worked for Howard Insurance Agency. She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler. A former member of Phase II group of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church.

She was a volunteer at the Butler Veterans Administration Medical Center for 35 years. Surviving is her son, Ric Zima of Huntington, WV. 2 daughters, Debby (Gary) Churella of Chester, WV.

And Sandi (Steve) Parker of Phoenixville, PA. 2 grandchildren, Tim Zima and Vicki (Andrew) Hormann. 3 great-grandchildren, Abigail Zima, Adeline Hormann and Nora Hormann.

3 sisters, Flo Grinnik of Meridian, Mary Lou Miklosovic of Butler and Rose (Dave) Dackor of Alliance, OH. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Bob Miklosovic and a sister, Margaret Yossa. Visitation will be private for her family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by the Geibel Funeral Home, Butler.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul Church, 128 North McKean Street, Butler, PA 16001 to be used for masses to celebrate her memory, or due to her love of veterans and animals, Patriot Paws Service Dogs, 254 Ranch Trail, Rockwall, TX 75032.
