“Our Hearts are heavy but we don’t grieve without hope” Gertrude ”Trudy” Anne Firth entered fully into the presence of her Lord and Savior peacefully with her family by her side on October 5, 2018. Born in St Claire, PA on August 28, 1932 to Ollie and Gertrude Post, the youngest of 7 children. Mom graduated from Pottsville Catholic HS in 1950 where she met the love of her life Charles J Firth lovingly known as Chas.

After graduation Trudy entered Misericordia Hospital School of Nursing graduating in 1953 as a Registered Nurse. Trudy and Chas were married in Pottsville, PA on June 12, 1954, the beginning of 64 years of a long, respectful and adoring life, raising their 5 children in their Warminster home. Over the years Trudy was the neighborhood nurse fixing cuts and bruises and wiping tears and supporting those in need with her servant’s heart which she has passed on to her family.

She raised her children in a home that was always filled with love, respect and kindness. In 1980 when her youngest was in high school Mom decided along with Chas’s support that she needed to fulfill her dream and renewed her career as a registered nurse. Working at Christ Home caring for the elderly, holding hands and comforting, surely a blessing to so many in need with her grace and love.

After 15 years Mom retired and spent the remainder of her life emotionally supporting her children as they raised their families. She loved long walks on the beach with Chas, music, reading and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Throughout her life Mom maintained a sweet, humble and simple demeanor, with a selfless quiet strength that won the trust and hearts of family, friends and many more who even now, are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing, love and Christian faith.

Mom was so special to so many and so completely unaware of how wonderful she was. Mom is survived by her beloved husband Charles J Firth, 4 sons: Michael (Victoria) of Skippack, Joseph (Tami) of Collegeville, Jack (Janice) of Abington, Robert (Mary) of Raleigh, NC, and favorite daughter Anne Marie Umani (John) of Warminster, 12 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her cherished daughter-in-law, Mary de Leon Firth.
