Obituary for Gilbert Ortiz Gilbert Ortiz, born January 1, 1941, passed away on April 20, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born in Elmendorf, TX to George and Ester Ortiz. Gilbert was a proud veteran that served honorably in the United States Marine Corps.

He is remembered for his devotion to his family and to his faith. Gilbert is survived by his wife Eva Guardiola Ortiz, children Sandra Ortiz (Jose A. Hernandez), Gilbert Ortiz, Jr. (Ruby), and Gabriel A. Ortiz, 3 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 5 siblings, numerous family members and a host of friends. The visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM, on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Brookehill Funeral Home.

The funeral procession will depart at 1:15 PM for a 2:00 PM Mass, on Friday, April 27, 2018 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Elmendorf, TX. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Gilbert Ortiz please visit our Sympathy Store.
