Obituary for Gladys I. Van Remortel Gladys Irene Van Remortel, 76, DePere, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 20th, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 4,1942, to the late Harry and Eleanor Pardowsky. She graduated from Kewaunee High School in 1960.

She met the love of her life Roger J. Van Remortel. They were married at Holy Rosary Church in Kewaunee on November 21, 1964. Roger and Gladys had four beautiful children, Melissa (Charles) Schmitt, Victoria (Michael) Kohta, Scott (Lisa Allen) Van Remortel, and Lisa (David) Collins.

Gladys had six grandchildren, Nathan Kohta, Amber Kohta (special friend Gilberto), Ben Kohta, Zachary Van Remortel (special friend Alexis), Kyla Van Remortel (special friend Logan) and Brenna Van Remortel (special friend Graham). Gladys is survived by her brother James (Paula) Pardowsky, her sisters: Sister Michaeleen Pardowsky, Mary (Norbert) Beining, and Cathy Wautelet (special friend Brian). In – Laws: Jean and William Vande Hei, Sally Pfluger, Francis and Jean Van Remortel, and Richard Van Remortel (special friend Pam).

Gladys also had many cousins, nieces and nephews, who were all very dear to her. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years Roger Van Remortel; her mother and father in- law, Victor and Marie Van Remortel; brother- in- law Jerry Pfluger; her sister Jeanette (Roger) Olszewski; her brother Michael Pardowsky; her niece Brenda Vande Hei-Nichols; and two nephews Mark and Kevin Wautelet. Gladys loved playing games with her grandchildren.

She enjoyed visiting with family and reading. Her love of dolls was a hobby she shared with her Mother-in- law, Marie, who treated Gladys like her own daughter. Gladys also had a very special friend, Jerry Beining.

He gave Gladys comfort and companionship. Jerry is a joy to have as part of our family. Family and friends may visit the Swan Club, 875 Heritage Road, De Pere, on Friday, September 28th, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of Memorial service at 6:00 p.m., with Deacon Bob Nooker officiating.
