Glenn A. Garvey (Papa Glennie), age 86 of Darlington,WI passed away peacefully on October 20, 2018 at his home with his family by his side following a 2-year battle with multiple myeloma. Glenn was born on December 30, 1931 in Seymour Township, the son of James and Lulu (Colbeck) Garvey. He graduated from Darlington High School in 1949.

Papa Glennie is survived by his children: Jim (Deb Johnson) Garvey, Chris (Buck) Virtue, Lori (Phil Friend) Garvey, and Chuck (Angie Olson) Garvey all of Darlington; eight grandchildren: Steve Garvey, Amber Hodgson, (Zach Menne) April, Alix, and AJ Brandt, Ryan (Jordan) Mosley, Alissa (Joe) Burbach, and Grant (McKayla McVay) Garvey, six great-grandchildren: Tatum Garvey, Brier Garvey, Ryley and Mason Burbach, Corbyn, Rowyn, and Linkyn Mosley, one sister: Millie (Pete) Parkinson, a brother and sister-in-law: Chuck and Barb Crowley, cribbage friend/adopted son: Al (Julie) Hinderman; and two former daughters-in-law: Sue Garvey and Donna Bredeson. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ellen; his parents: James and Lulu; parents-in-law: James and Hazel Crowley; a grandson: Tommy Garvey; two sisters: Lucille Johnson and Alberta Staver; and one brother: Duane Garvey. Glenn was a member of Darlington United Methodist Church in Darlington.
He enjoyed spending time at the casinos and going up north where he loved to hunt, fish, and beat whoever wanted to lose at a game of cribbage. He enjoyed going to NASCAR races, cheering on the Brewers and Packers, and completing puzzles, many of which he framed to display in his home. He cherished his family and the memories they created together.
Glenn will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Darlington United Methodist Church (546 Park Place, Darlington) with Rev. Angela Utter officiating.
Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Darlington United Methodist Church and on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. at the church. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.
