Gloria Ann Allen, 96, of Connersville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, surrounded by her loving family at her home. She was born July 23, 1922, in Fayette County, the daughter of Charles and Alice Garrity Bailey and graduated from Connersville High School with the class of 1940. On June 4, 1943, she was married to Doran T. Allen while he was stationed in Fort Riley, Kansas with the military.

Mr. Allen died on June 22, 1999. A loving wife and mother, Gloria spent her time taking care of her family. In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading, traveling, visiting with her family, entertaining, and playing cards and games.

She was a devout member of Saint Gabriel Catholic Church where she participated in Saint Anne Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella, served on the Bereavement Committee, chairperson of the Golden Gabriels, and was a church greeter. Gloria was also a member of the Inter Culture Club. Survivors include a son, Mark (Edith) Allen of Olympia, Washington; three daughters, Jane Ann (Clint) Stidham of Phoenix, Arizona, Joan (Mark) Brockman of Connersville, and Lisa (Brett) Campbell of Kirkwood, Missouri; eight grandchildren; John (Julie) Allen of Indianapolis, Erica Stidham of San Francisco, California, Haley (Jacob) Fabian of Olympia, Washington, Jennifer (Chris) Chamberlin of Austin, Texas, Adrienne Brockman (Brandon Munley), of Long Beach, California, Alexander Campbell (Hannah Eades), of Kirkwood, Missouri, Isabel Campbell and Maxwell Campbell both of Manhattan, New York; two great-grandchildren, Evan Allen and Samuel Allen, both of Indianapolis, Indiana; a niece, Monica (Ron) Welty of Indianapolis; two nephews, David (Jennifer) Hildreth of Indianapolis and John Hildreth of Richmond, Indiana.

Besides her husband of 56 years, Doran T. Allen, Gloria is preceded in death by a son, Tom Allen and a sister, Pat Culley. A rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home, with visitation following the rosary from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Eulogy will be conducted at 11:45 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Reverend Dustin Boehm at 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at Saint Gabriel Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery.
