Gloria Jean (Decker) Dailey Gloria Jean (Decker) Dailey aka Lovebug entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday July 20, 2018. Gloria was predeceased by her husband of 43 years Charles Dailey, Sr.and her parents Isabelle and Harold Decker. Gloria was the eldest sister to Bonnie (Bud) Barnes, Dennis (Linda) Decker, Hank (Diane) Decker, Cork (Ellen) Macumber, Ken (Rita) Macumber, and Jerry Macumber.
The greatest joy in Gloria’s life was her family, none greater than her children; surviving her are, Phyllis (Scott) Mangan, Charles (Vicki Congdon) Dailey, Jr., Debra (Pedro) Caskey, Gloria-Marie (Chris Pedro) Dailey. She leaves behind 12 grandchildren: Timothy, Christopher, Dawson, Dustin, Isaac, Riley, Bryden, Camdyn, Jaelyn, Kaelyn, Leroy, and Crystal. Five Great Grandchildren: Timothy Jr., Hunter, Gunner, Leroy Jr., and Destinee.
Numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Gloria also leaves behind a large karaoke family that she adored. She was loved by all who met her as she loved all as her own.
Gloria also leaves behind her special friends who were part of her everyday life that she cherished and loved endlessly: Uncle Dave Allen, Rose Pruitt, and Jennifer East. Gloria was a master seamstress, using her gift to make countless prom and wedding dresses throughout the years. She could always be found in front of a sewing machine whether filling a need, providing for a loved one or just sending a special gift.
Gloria’s generosity was matched by none. Her penchant for making people feel special and loved was her calling card. She was a champion for the underdog and wanted everyone to feel included, loved and cherished and she devoted her life to making everyone around her feel that way.
Gloria’s acts of kindness are long talked about by her friends and family. Her long running Easter dinners were well attended and enjoyed by countless families that wanted a place of love to gather. There was always room for one more and there was never a weary soul who could not find a seat at her table or solace in her embrace.
Her cookie parties were huge events which brought her cherished family and friends together for laughter, love and full bellies. Her cooking and baking skills were second only to her sewing talents. Cakes; whether for a first birthday or a grand wedding celebration, she was your go-to girl and there is not a family member who has not enjoyed a slice of her sweetness.
Gloria’s door was always open. Her home was a refuge for wayward souls in need of a loving touch. They would find their way to her and her kindness, compassion and assurance would always help them find their way.
Gloria believed that no one should feel alone or unloved and in her presence you never felt that way. Her big heart and kind words coupled with her warm hugs left you feeling cherished and worthy. Gloria was the President of The Tenants Association at Woodburn Court and was making event preparations up to her last day.
She reveled in bringing people together and found so much joy in creating relationships. Recently, Gloria was overjoyed to rekindle her friendship with her lifelong friend, Richard Smith. Gloria’s life was a living example of unconditional love and limitless kindness.
She will be forever missed but always in our hearts. In lieu of flowers we ask that, in honor of this beautiful soul, you would do a random act of kindness. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday July 28th at The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints, 27832 State Route 171, Susquehanna, PA.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Service at 12:00 PM Luncheon to follow the memorial service.
