It has become the solemn duty of the Final Care Professionals at Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations to stand with the Whidbee family as they said farewell to Goldie Marie Whidbee, 77 of Elizabeth City, NC as she made her peaceful transition on Monday, January 14, 2019 at her residence. Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations, Elizabeth City with Pastor Ernest Cole, officiating. An earthly glimpse of Goldie will be held one hour prior to the service.

The family is receiving friends at the home of the deceased, 1416 N. Road Street, Elizabeth City, NC. Goldie leaves to cherish her memories: three children, Clifton Lee Whidbee (Lisa) of Tacoma, Wa, Peggy Ann Gordon (James) of Fort Campbell, Tx and Christopher Whidbee (Svenja) of Washington State; five siblings, Emma Whidbee of Brooklyn, NY, Lucius Whidbee (Angela) of Elizabeth City, NC, Ethel Mae Green of Elizabeth City, NC, Alonzo Whidbee (Julia) of Brooklyn, NY and Florence Morris of Brookyln, NY; step-mother, Flossie Whidbee of Elizabeth City, NC; thirteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
