Obituary for Gordon Wagner Gordon Wagner, 85, of Bonita Springs, FL passed away Thursday, December 6, 2018. Formerly of Ohio he moved to Bonita Springs full time in 1998. He then lived in Marco Island, FL and Charlotte, NC before relocating back to Bonita Springs in 2009.

Gordon was born May 20, 1933 in Plymouth, WI, son of the late Elroy and Mayme (Luth) Wagner. He was a graduate of Lawrence University in Appleton, WI and completed the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. Mr. Wagner was the Chairman, President & CEO of Commercial National Bank in Tiffin, OH and the First National Bank of Zanesville, OH.

He had also ran other banks throughout Wisconsin and Cleveland, OH. For many years, Gordon served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Tiffin University. He was very involved within the communities in which he lived and served.

Gordon was an avid golfer and more recently an award winning water colorist. Survivors include his beloved wife of 38 years, Peggy A. (Rankin) Wagner; children, Kurt Wagner of St. Charles, IL, Melissa Hasty of Lexington, KY and Brandon (Ritheen) Hatton of LaVergne, TN; 9 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters, Amy Wagner and Betsy Steele; brother, William “Bill” Wagner; and sister, Phyllis Whitford.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Sun. , Dec. 16th at 2:00 pm at Unity of Naples Church, 2000 Unity Way, Naples, FL 34112.

Reception to follow. Memorial contributions in Gordon’s name may be made to Unity of Naples; Tiffin University in Tiffin, OH; or Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs, FL. Arrangements are being handled by Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home.
