Grace Elaine Reiste Ballweg, age 86, of Shelby,NC, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the Wendover Hospice House. Born February 5, 1932 in Minot, North Dakota, she was a daughter to the late Marion Reiste and Divert Svenunsen Reiste. Grace was a dedicated homemaker and Christian.

When her health permitted she was very involved at the First Church of Bremerton, Washington and the Hillcrest Presbyterian Church of West Seattle. She ministered to many through her Fellowship Bible Coffees. Grace also enjoyed spending time boating with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, LeVerne “Vern” I. Ballweg and one sister, Marilyn Seibert. Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Kenneth Ballweg and wife, Lynn of Seattle and daughter, Linda Williams and husband, Charles of Shelby; one sister, Ruth McKelvey of Underwood, North Dakota and a brother, Ed Reiste and wife, Gwendolyn of Willis, Texas. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Daniel Ballweg, David Ballweg, Dale Ballweg, Timothy J. Williams, Christopher A. Williams and Digory M. Williams.

A service honoring Grace’s life will be held at 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the Tahoma National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her late husband. Memorial donations are respectfully requested to Samaritan’s Purse, www.
