OBITUARY Grace Trahan September 25, 1938 – November 1, 2018 Grace Trahan, 80, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at AMG Specialty Hospital in Lafayette, LA. She was born in Rayne, LA to her late parents, Cletscme and Nola Navarre on September 25, 1938. She later married the love of her life Rodney Trahan, and they moved to Lacassine where they lived for 24 years.

Grace was an amazing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her passions were crocheting, playing bingo, and playing games on her computer. In her earlier years she loved to go camping and skating with her kids.

She loved her position with the Postal Service where she worked for 27 years. She retired as Postmaster in Branch, LA. She is survived by her two children, Gerald “Jay” Trahan and wife Bess of Youngsville, LA, Deanna Trahan-Montgomery and husband Mark of Lafayette, LA; son-in-law, Kirby Cormier, Jr.; and the loves of her life were her 7 grandchildren; and her 12 great-grandchildren.

Grace is preceded in death by her loving husband, Rodney Trahan; and daughter, Juanita Cherie Cormier. Services will be held at St. John Catholic Church on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 3:00pm with Rev. Roland Vaughn officiating.

Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh on Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 2:00pm-8:00pm with a Rosary by the Catholic Daughters of Lacassine at 6:00pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Monday, from 10:00am until the procession to the church. Burial will follow at Lacassine Cemetery.

We would like to thank Dr. Frank Courmier for years of taking wonderful care of our mother. We would also like to thank the staff of Maison de Lafayette where she lived for 7 years. She was loved and well taken care of.
