Obituary for GREGORIA L. ( JOYCE ) GUZMAN A Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated for Gregoria L. ( Joyce ) Guzman age 79 of Lamesa at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday June 27, 2018 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Martin Pina officiating. Interment will follow to Dawson County Cemtery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, Texas.
Viewing will be held on Monday and Tuesday with Rosary prayer services at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel. Gregoria passed away on Saturday June 23, 2018 at her residence in Lamesa. She was born on May 9, 1939 in Austin, Texas.
Gregoria married Jose A. Guzman on January 28, 1962 in Lamesa. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ricardo Luna and David Luna; her brothers, Antonio Luna, Sr., and Chris Luna. Gregoria enjoyed crafts, quilting, cooking and baking for her family and gardening.
She also loved spending time with all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Gregoria is survived by her loving family, her husband of 56 years, Jose A. Guzman of Lamesa; her daughters, Sandra A. Gutierrez and Anna Marie Guzman, both of Lubbock, TX.
, Mary L. Zimmerman of Lamesa, and Tobie Guzman of Grand Junction, CO. ; her son, Joe Guzman of Lubbock, TX. ; eight grandchildren, Robert Lee Garza, Andy Garza, Samantha Jo Flores, Josh Lugo, Analicia Flores, Brittany Guzmanm, Justin Gutierrez, and Paisley Zimmerman; her brothers, John Luna of Lamesa, Domingo Luna, Sr. of San Antonio, TX.
, Julian Luna of Odessa, TX. , and James Luna of McKinny, TX. ; her sisters, Ruby Luna, Delfina (Desi) Luna, and Augie Garza, all of Lamesa, Louisa Martinez and Margaret Navarro, both of Dallas, TX.
