Gregory John Deininger March 21, 1952 – April 30, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card| Gregory John Deininger, 67, formerly of Greenfield, died at 6:47 p.m. Tuesday April 30, 2019 at Elkhart General Hospital, Elkhart. He was born March 21, 1952 in Fort Wayne, IN, a son of the late Paul J. and Wanda I. (Lepley) Deininger. His formative years were spent in Fort Wayne where he attended St. Jude Elementary and he graduated from Bishop Dwenger High School in 1970.

He continued his education at Purdue University, West Lafayette earning a bachelor’s in electrical engineering. He had 40 years of service with Raytheon, Indianapolis as an electrical engineer. He was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Indianapolis, the Purdue Alumni Association, and an Associate Advisor for BSA Explorer Post 475.

He enjoyed old TV westerns and was a history buff, especially WWII history. He is survived by his sister, Rita M. Deininger, Elkhart; a niece, Wendy (Robert) Lash and a great niece, Marie Kouma, both of Three Rivers, MI and a sister-in-law, Sharon Deininger, of Brandenburg, KY. Additionally, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul J. Deininger.

The funeral service is 3 p.m. Saturday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley. Burial is in the South Whitley Cemetery. Visitation is 1:00 p.m. until the service Saturday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Indianapolis.
