Obituary of Gregory Ronald Smith Gregory Ronald Smith, 74, of Bay City, our hardworking and honest husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend was born into eternal life on the evening of Friday, December 21, 2018 at his home. Greg was born in Detroit on November 6, 1944, the son of the late Charles and Rosalie (Bussey) Smith. He was a 1964 graduate of Alpena High School.

After asking a lady by the name of Rosemary Donald to dance one night, Greg knew he had found the love of his life. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on July 26, 1975 in Alpena. Greg retired from General Motors – Grey Iron Foundry and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan.

He was known for his artistic talents with his cement artwork and enjoyed staying busy tinkering with any project needing to be done. In his younger years, Greg enjoyed fishing and camping. Greg leaves to carry on his legacy, his wife of 43 years, Rosemary; children, Craig (Stacey) Smith, Jackie Smalley, Joshua (Siobhan) Smith, Brandon (Teri) DuVall; grandchildren, Felicity (Tim) Zbytowski, Dustin, Aaron & Caitlyn Smalley, Claudia DuVall, Mirabelle Smith, Lochlann Smith, and Anthony DuVall; great-grandson, Killian Zbytowski; siblings, Leon Smith, Joanne DuVall, Eugene (Kathy) Smith, Gerald Smith, Colleen (Steve) Mielke, Mark (Mary) Smith, Michelle (Mark) St. James, Anita (Bruce) Arlt; in-laws, DeLynn (Bob) Carr, Linda Smith, Timm (Deborah) Donald, along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Greg was welcomed home to heaven by his twin brother, Gilbert Smith; sister, Cecelia Johnston; brother, Dennis Smith, and in-laws, Sharon Smith and James Donald. Greg’s family will be present to receive visitors on Saturday, January 26, 2018 from 1:00 PM until Greg’s 6:00 PM Life Celebration at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd. , Hampton Twp.

Private interment will be held in Alpena. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Humane Society of Bay County. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.
