Obituary for Grethel Fields Muncy Grethel Fields Muncy, age 92, left this world to join her Lord on November 7, 2018. Born on March 13, 1926 in Laura, KY to the late Jim and Birdie Fields. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

Grethel was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Muncy, parents, Jim and Birdie (Mullins) Fields, and siblings, Elizabeth Kirk, Annie Bryant, Florida Cline, Larnie Dotson, Della Jean Richardson, Garnet York, Vernie Walker, and Ellis Fields. She is survived by her sister, Gail (Tim) McCoy; children, Carmel Muncy, Kathy and Thomas Darkes, Russell Muncy Jr., Delmar Muncy, Dennis Muncy, and Darlene Muncy; 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 13 great great grandchildren. Grethel was a former pastor of the Pentecostal Shield of Faith Church.

She was known for operating and participating in the food kitchen at her church and loved providing meals for all that called upon her every Friday. She always put others’ needs before her own and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Friends may call on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 from 11 am until time of service at 1 PM at the O.R. WOODYARD SOUTH CHAPEL, 1346 South High St. Pastor Robert Richardson officiating.
