Guilla Mae (Gwen) Nothstine passed away at home May 7th. Guilla Mae Bandy was born in Dublin, Texas, June 11, 1924. She was the fourth of five children born to John & Annie Stokes Bandy.

The family moved to Amarillo, Texas where she attended school until graduating from Amarillo High School in 1942. She met and married Bud Nothstine in 1944. He was stationed in a variety of places as an Army Airman.

One was Albuquerque, New Mexico where they decided to move permanently when he was discharged. They moved to Farmington in 1952 and started B & G Electric Company. They owned and operated the business until 2009.

Gwen loved to garden, cook and sew. She took a break from the business to raise her family of five children in Fruitland. She loved to spend time with her family and friends.

You could find her outside on her patio with her roses and flowers. Gwen is preceded in death by her husband Bud, daughter Elayne, friend Cheryl Sommer and her siblings. She is survived by her children: Charlotte (Ken) Fowler, Rebecca Nothstine Haling, Al Nothstine, & Tom (Tami) Nothstine.

She has seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Gwen’s service will be Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 11:00am at Farmington Funeral Home, interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
