Obituary for Gwen Green Athens- Memorial services for Gwen Green, 79, of Athens are scheduled for 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, December 17, 2018 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home. Gwen Green passed away on December 8, 2018 in Malakoff, Texas. Gwendolyn Elaine Green was born September 18, 1939 the daughter of Marvin Elton Tutton and Flisky Ellen Nelson.

She worked at various banks in North and East Texas since 1972, including Bank of Mabank and most recently First National Bank of Athens where she retired in 1998. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and babysitting her grandpets, Ramsey, Peanut, Miss Penny, Deuce and Lucky. She also loved being a part of the Texas Women’s Bowling Association.

Gwen treasured spending time with her friends and family, especially with Lauren. She was a loving woman who will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and her husband Dorsie Ray Green.

Gwen is survived by her son Steve Green and wife Janet of Athens; one brother Dwight (Bubba) Tutton and wife Donna of The Villages, Florida; three sisters, Sue Strain and husband Darrel (Nubbin) of Ovilla, Debbie Ramsey and husband Mike of Red Oak, Jeanie Whatley of Red Oak; one granddaughter Lauren Green and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Dementia Society of America. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
