Ms. Gwyndolyn “Iona” Conner Fish, age 84, crossed over to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at her home in Glen St. Mary. She was born on May 2, 1934 in Kent, Florida to the late Mr. Fred Daniel and Minnie “Marie” (Hodges) Conner. She grew up in Nassau County, later moving to Baker County, where she spent her entire adult life.

Her family will remember her as a selfless, loving wife, mother, and grandmother who was devoted to serving Christ. She was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Cuyler and also assisted in starting the First Baptist Church of Sanderson. She was a “farm wife” to her husband of 44 years, the late Mr. Wassie Fish.

She was recognized for her renowned hummingbird cakes. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star chapter in Macclenny, as well as an honorary member of Baker County FFA. She is survived by her sons: Richard (Pam) Fish and Aaron (Kay) Fish both of Glen St. Mary; grandchildren: Susie South, Laura Fuller, Ida Holem, W.A. Fish, Casey Bennett, Lindsey Fish and Blake Fish; great-grandchildren: Conner South, Caleb South, Luke Fuller, Anna Brooke Fuller, Sara Belle Fuller, Paul Fuller, R.T. Holem, Kash Addy, Waylon Fish, Cartwright Fish, Grady Fish, Blakely Fish, Conway Fish, Stetson Fish, Liam Bennett, Jensen Bennett, and Rory Bennett; numerous other family members and friends also survive.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son: Foy Fish; brothers: J.B. Conner, Donald Conner, and Teddy Conner; and sister: Nora Conner. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Glen Baptist Church, Glen St. Mary, on Friday, December 28, 2018. A Celebration of Ms. Iona’s Life will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the church at 10:00 am with Rev.

James Conner, Rev. Gene Burnsed, Rev. Johnny Raulerson, and Rev.

Eddie Griffis officiating. She will be laid to rest immediately following the service in North Prong Cemetery in Glen St. Mary. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Forbes Funeral Home, Macclenny.
