ELLAVILLE, GA — Mr. Hansel (Hank) Lee Lightner, 65, died Saturday, May 26, 2018 at his home. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Ellaville Cemetery with Bro. Troy Fripp officiating.

Mr. Lightner was born August 18, 1952 to the late John L. Lightner Sr. and Margie Elliott Lightner in Moultrie, GA. Mr. Lightner graduated with honors from Georgia Southwestern State University with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He was a farmer who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He also enjoyed watching sports on television. Mr. Lightner was a member of Ellaville Baptist Church. Survivors include his three brothers, Johnny Lightner (Kathy) of Ellaville, Dr. Joe Lightner (Patricia) of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and Bob Lightner (Lynn) of Americus.

Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Ellaville/Schley County Historical Society, P. O. Box 175, Ellaville, GA 31806 or charity of one’s choice.
