Hans R. Weinmann passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at the age of 74. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Dee Weinmann, daughter Robyn Edwards (Jason), grandchildren Nicholas and Dylan, sister Monica King (Chet), and nephews Chet King (Stacey) and Joe King. He was born May 10, 1944 in the small town of Netzchkau, Germany to Frieda Ann and Rudolph Max Weinmann.

In his younger years, Hans was a talented gymnast who was known to walk down stairs on his hands. He graduated Lakewood High in 1962 and went on to take classes at Ohio State University. In 1977, he met his wife, Dee, in a real estate class.

Dee originally thought that Hans was the most annoying and obnoxious man on earth. Thankfully, their story didn’t stop there. They fell in love and marrying in January of 1979.

Marrying Hans was the best thing Dee ever did. They began their adventure in Ohio, and then life took them to Florida and North Carolina. They just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.

Hans was a man of many trades. During his time with us, he ran his own tool and die shop, and was the ultimate “honey do” with his own handyman business. He was also a building administrator and a property manager.

Hans spent a lot of time giving back. He spent several years in the Scouting program. He was a Boy Scout, a leader to the boys and even served as an Explorer Leader.

He loved watching the kids grow up and be successful in life. Hans served as Worshipful Master of Winter Park Masonic Lodge #239 in 1998. He was a member of Bahia Shrine Temple serving as Temple Administrator for over 10 years.

He helped raise awareness and funds for the Burned and Orthopedic Hospitals. He served as an advisor for the local DeMolay and Rainbow chapters in the 1990’s. He was also involved in the Elks and Moose Lodges.

He had a unique sense of humor and was loved by all. You could always count on Hans to throw out a joke that would certainly make you smile while you shook your head. He was the type of man that would do anything he could for you.

Per Hans’ wishes we will not have a funeral for him. We will have a party to celebrate his life on Sunday, March 3rd from 2-5pm at Bahia Shrine Center, located at 3101 E Semoran Blvd, Apopka, FL 32703. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Shriners Hospitals for Children to help carry their mission of providing care to children free of charge.
