Obituary of Hans Leland Hans Leland a lifetime resident of Ellenville, passed away on Sunday, December 02, 2018 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 76. The son of the late Hans and Ragna Leland, Sr., he was born on April 18, 1942 in Ellenville, New York.

Hans was the owner of Hans Leland Custom Carpentry and was involved with the family business, L & L Construction. Hans enjoyed doing custom carpentry, building and fixing things and made custom toy boxes for each of his grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going on long motorcycle rides with Donna, trap shooting and was a member of the NRA.

He also shared a love for country music and sang at church with his siblings when they were young. Most of all, Hans loved spending time with his family and the peace of living in the mountains. There was never a time he didn’t have a joke to share and kept his sense of humor til the end.

Hans leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 43 years, Donna Rianhard, at home, his daughter Tracey Hussey and her husband, Art, his son, Kevin Leland and his wife, Peggy, his step-children, Jeffrey Allison and his companion, Lynn, Robin Allison-Wood and her husband Donald, and Scott Allison . His grandchildren, Kirk Daroci, Jessica Hussey, Katie Howarth, Julia Leland, Gregory Leland, Reagan Allison, Alexandra Allison, Evelyn Allison, Patrick Allison, and four great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Rolf Leland and his wife, Nancy, and John Leland and one sister, Sue Clapp and her husband Dan and many nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

He was predeceased by his sister, Helen Yachnowitz and his constant canine companion, Trixie. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 08, 2018 from 2 to 4 pm with a funeral service to follow at 4 pm at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. Walter Haff will be officiating.
