Harold E. Benedict, of Academy St., McGraw, passed away on May 17, 2019 while under the care of Hospice and his loving family at the age of 76. Harold was born in Rockville Centre, NY, a son of the late Henry and Grace Pearson Benedict. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Hover Benedict in 2002.

He faithfully served in the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1966-1968. Mr. Benedict spent his career in the banking business, retiring from Alliance Bank in 2005. He was a longtime and active member of the McGraw Lions Club.

Harold is survived by his two sons, Matthew O. (Heather) Benedict of McGraw and Alexander B.H. (Tisha) Benedict of Shiloh, IL; a sister, Jane (Jim) Porter of Gilbertsville, NY; and four grandchildren, Talyn, Jacob, Ryan and Kyler Benedict. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 US Route 11, Homer.

Interment in McGraw Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in Mr. Benedict’s name may directed to McGraw Lions Club, PO Box 6, McGraw, NY 13101.
