Harrison Marr, age 98, peacefully passed away at home in Florissant, Missouri on Monday, July 23, 2018. From his birth in Point Pleasant to his death on Monday he nourished people around him with humor, faith, and love. He was born June 29, 1920 on a farm to Alexander and Rosie Lena (Duvall) Marr and was the youngest of four children.

Farm life provided him with a strong work ethic which he used throughout his life. After serving Harrison Marr, age 98, peacefully passed away at home in Florissant, Missouri on Monday, July 23, 2018. From his birth in Point Pleasant to his death on Monday he nourished people around him with humor, faith, and love.

He was born June 29, 1920 on a farm to Alexander and Rosie Lena (Duvall) Marr and was the youngest of four children. Farm life provided him with a strong work ethic which he used throughout his life. After serving in the army, he met the woman who would enrich his life and make him a better man, Surmalia Carr.

They were married December 20, 1946 until her departure July 10, 1987. He was a devoted, kind, easy-going and accommodating husband. During her illness he remained the same uncomplaining and loving mate.

Harrison accepted Christ at an early age at Lily of the Valley Free Will Baptist Church where he served faithfully as a member and deacon until relocating to Florissant. He attended quarterly meetings and conferences and was always willing to provide a song. He enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals, talking to friends, singing, watching westerns, enjoying family, eating cookies and sweet potato pies.

Harrison was preceded in death by son, Sandy; brother, Charlie; and sisters, Willie Clayborn and Cora Lee Treadwell. He is survived by children, Harrison II (Macie) of Tacoma, WA, Gene Morgan of Markham, IL Vera Hayes (Marques) of Florissant, MO, Renee Rowland (Darryl) of Newburgh, IN. Tommy Marr (Jacqueline) of Frisco, TX; and; grandchildren, Albany, Asia, Autumn, Austin, Jerrell, Alexander, Mia, Harrison III, Spencer, Sharon and Sheila; great-grandchildren, Angel, Micah and Kayden; nieces, Gracie Mae Adams and Andrya Hoard; special great niece Vanessa White (Willie); special great nephew, Melvin Treadwell (Dejon); special cousins Cheryl McGuire (Willis), Jesse Dunigan (Portia) and special friends Alice Douthet (LaVaughn & Katherine Wilson) Carolyn Taylor, and Brother Eugene Bishop.
