Harry James Gilbert Devoted husband of Reba “Dear” Gilbert (nee Huddleston), cherished father of Michelle Lamb, Jim (Shannon), and Eric Gilbert, loving grandfather of Aaron and Evan Lamb, Jacob and Jimmy Gilbert, Kevin (Tori), Hailee and Hunner Ramsey, Bobby Pham, Ashley Howard and Riley Corbin, and great grandfather of Kaysen Ramsey, beloved son of the late Harry S. and Ina E. Gilbert, adored brother-in-law of Bob (Toni) Huddleston, special uncle to many loving nieces and nephews including Tom (Lora) Huddleston, also survived by many close friends. Harry was born on January 7, 1945. He proudly served his country for three years in the US Army and then went on to serve as a police officer for 31 years, serving in Deer Park, Springdale and eventually retired as a police specialist for the Cincinnati Police Division.

He is a lifelong member of the FOP Queen City Lodge #69 and the American Legion. He was a loving husband of 50 years to Reba J. Gilbert and a devoted family man. In his life family always came first.

He coached his grandchildren’s sports teams, loved fishing, old cars, 50’s music, but most of all spending time with his family making memories. He was a role model, a man of integrity, high morals and a man of faith. He was well loved and will be greatly missed.

Along this journey in the past five years and his battle with Leukemia, Reba and Harry are so blessed and appreciative for the loving care they received from the doctors, nurses and staff at OHC, Blood Center of Jewish Hospital and Hospice of Cincinnati. Passed away, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday January 8, 2019. Age 74 years.

Visitation Friday Evening January 11th from 6-8 PM with an FOP Service at 8 PM. A second Visitation will take place on Saturday at 11 AM, until time of Funeral Service & Army Military Honors at 12 Noon, all at the Dalbert, Woodruff & Isenogle Funeral Home, 2880 Boudinot Ave. , 45238.
