She was born July 7, 1948 in Huntsville, Arkansas the daughter of Louis Burks and Goldie Parker Burks. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and was preceded in death by 2 sons, Terry and Gary Smith and sister, Mary Ann Burks Foshee.

Survivors include her husband of 20 years Raymond Werda of the home; sisters, Wanda Tolbert of Cassville, MO, Janice Milner of Springdale; brother Loy Burks of Springdale; 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 10:00AM, Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Home 3926 Willowood Ave. , Springdale.

Burial will follow in the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7PM on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Memorial Funeral Home.
