Hazel Lee Motes passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving children. Hazel was born February 26, 1929 in Nutrioso, Arizona to her parents Claude Lee and Alice Wilcox Lee. She married Charlie Glenn Motes on September 3, 1949.

Their marriage was later sealed in the Mesa, Arizona Temple on February 13, 1958. Hazel owned and operated ‘Pixie Bridal Shoppe’, for over 25 years, which was the first wedding shop in Mesa. Her services included bridal dresses, decorating weddings and receptions, wedding cakes and catering.

She was a decade’s long member of ‘The Soroptimist Club’ for businesses. Hazel was a gifted artist with many talents, some included, oil painting, Pencil art, sewing, quilting, wood carving, porcelain doll making, card making and speaking Spanish. And loved playing cards with friends.

She loved being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. She was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, giving service to many. She is survived by her children.

Dennis Glenn Motes (Shan), Larry Lee Motes (Shelley), David Wayne Motes, Sandra Kae Hestand (Jeff), Marilyn Motes, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and her brother, Karan Ferris Lee. As well as many nieces and nephews. Hazel is preceded in death by her parents her loving husband, Glenn, her great grandson Deacon Lee, and her brother Lawrance.

Services will be held at Meldrum Mortuary, Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Mesa City Cemetery. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Hazel Motes please visit our Sympathy Store.
