Kenneth M. (Ken) Willis passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019. Ken was born in Show Low, Arizona on February 25, 1924 to John L. and Sarah M. Willis. He served in the Army from March 1943 to February 1946 in the Pacific Theater of Operations.

After graduating from the University of Arizona in 1950, he married Lorraine (Kitsie) McLoy and spent 50 years in the construction business managing major heavy construction projects in various parts of the United States. He retired in 2001 after managing the construction of the Boston Harbor Cleanup Project, a 13-year, $3. 5 billion effort.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various positions in stakes, wards, and branches wherever his projects were located. Accompanied by his wife, he served a two-year mission in the Chicago Spanish Speaking Mission. He also served as an ordinance worker in the Washington D.C., Boston, and Mesa temples.

Ken was preceded in death by his devoted and beautiful companion of 65 years, Kitsie, and his eldest son, Scott. He is survived by six children: Larry (Sandy), Lynn Allred (Gary), Kathleen Hughes (John), Cynthia, David (Janet), Michael (Tiffany), and by Scott’s wife, Gaye; 28 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. A viewing will be held at Meldrum Mortuary, 52 N. MacDonald, Mesa, Arizona on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held at the LDS Western Skies Ward Chapel located at 1155 E. Ray Road, Gilbert, Arizona on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 11:00 AM with a viewing at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at the Mesa City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the LDS Humanitarian Aid Fund.
