On May 10, 1953, she married her high school sweetheart, Kevin N. Coyne, of Yonkers, NY. They were married for sixty years before Kevin passed away on September 8, 2013. Immediately after the wedding, they moved to France because Kevin was stationed at the Laon Air Force Base.

Helen and Kevin returned to the U.S. in 1956 and settled in Mt. Tabor, NJ and then Boonton Township, NJ where they raised a family of six children. In 1968 the family relocated to Georgetown, MA in order for Kevin to pursue a job promotion.

Helen was a very sociable, warm and generous person, a wonderful mother and a loving wife. She loved to host get-togethers, especially with her extended family, and was a wonderful cook. She had many interests, such as bridge, gardening and golfing, and artistic pursuits such as playing the organ, quilting and knitting.

For a few years after the children had grown up she created a word processing business specializing in medical transcription. She will be most remembered for her sense of humor, her sacrifice for, encouragement of, and delight in, the growth and accomplishments of her children. She was truly a remarkable person, and an exceptional role model.
