Tomkowski, Helen E., 95, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Johnstown, passed away December 22, 2018 at Garvey Manor. Born February 21, 1923 in Johnstown, daughter of the late, Paul and Sophia Bargel. Preceded in death by sisters, Mary Lambert, Anne Czyrnik and Emily Sycz; brothers, Stanley, Walter and Blaine “Tony” Bargel; also by husband, Frank Tomkowski.

Survived by loving children, Francis married to Karen, Bethlehem Pa; daughter, Bernardine ”Bunny” married to Bill Mishler; and Florian married to Paula, all of Johnstown; grandchildren, Michael Tomkowski married to Dana, Matthew Tomkowski, Christopher Mishler married to Candice, Richard Mishler, Nicole married to William Sievers, Stephen Tomkowski married to Jennifer, Allison married to David Arbuckle, Maria Tomkowski, and Kevin Tomkowski; great grandchildren, Jack, Adrian, Ruby and Connor; sister, Theresa Ryba; and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was a member of Moxham P.N.A, and active in both St. Patrick and St. Anne Catholic Church’s, and was a member of Third Order of Franciscans, and faithful supporter of the perpetual adoration chapel at St. Pat’s. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother.

She loved planting her garden and baking pastries for her family. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27th, at KENNEDY’S 219 Ohio St. Johnstown, where vigil service will be held.

Funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28th, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Fr. Walter Moll.

Committal St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Patrick Catholic Church in her memory. www.
