Jones, age 99, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2019 at the Iron River Care Center. She was born on May 27, 1919 in Iron River, MI, the daughter of the late Anton and Annette (Przybylski) Chmielewski. She attended the Iron River Schools.

Helen married Clinton Jones on July 10, 1940 in Crystal Falls, MI. The couple made their home in Milwaukee and Pewaukee, Wisconsin. They celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary in 1963.

Clinton preceded her in death in 1964. Helen moved back to Iron River in her retirement. She was employed as a CNA at the Glendale WI nursing home.

Helen was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Iron River. She was an avid gardener and loved caring for her flowers, and was a volunteer at the Iron River Senior Center and St. Vincent De Paul for many years. Helen is survived by her son, Clinton (Fran) Jones Jr. of Ishpeming, MI; grandchildren, Christopher and Peter; great grandchildren, Sophie and Liam; sisters, Dorothy Bonen, Boulder, CO, Rose French, Hartland, WI, Lillian Moran, Potomac, MD, Nancy (Paul) Lazeau, Rivieria Beach, FL and Betty Arnold, Thomson, GA; sister-in-law, Myrene Chmielewski, Ely, MN; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by her brothers, Tony, Joseph and John Chmielewski and sisters, Stella Kent and Margaret Teikari. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery in the spring.
