Obituary for Helen J. Humphries Helen J. Humphries, 74, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at her home. Born January 22, 1944, in Cherokee County, SC, she was the daughter of the late E. W. “Bill” and Lois Cooley Humphries. Helen was a member of Morningside Baptist Church and the Mary Magdalene Sunday School Class.

She was a former member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg and Columbia, SC as well as St. Andrews Baptist Church in Columbia. She attended Limestone College in addition to USC-Columbia and was employed with GHB Broadcasting in Atlanta, GA. Survivors include her sister, Cathy M. Humphries of the home; and numerous cousins.

She was predeceased by her sister, Laura Ruby Humphries. Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 AM Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, with funeral services following at 11:00 AM, conducted by The Rev. Steven R. Owensby and The Rev.

Jack Dodds. Private burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd. , Spartanburg, SC 29307.
