Obituary for Helen J. Rees Helen J. Rees, age 97, of Carleton passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018 in Clinton Township, MI. Born on December 10, 1920 in Antwerp, Ohio, she was the daughter of Joseph and Rose (Nagy) Rapai. On February 7, 1942 she married Wesley I. Rees in Carleton, MI, they celebrated 55 years of marriage before his passing on July 5.

1997. Helen was a member of Carleton United Methodist Church and was active in the women’s group. She enjoyed her family, reading, crocheting and cooking her favorite Hungarian dishes.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Ronald Rees, son-in-law Mitchell Standifer, sisters, Rose Duff, Anna Clavier, Catherine Hammer and a brother John Rapai. She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Bob VanderLugt) Standifer of Kalamazoo and Amy (Robert) Pomaville of Sterling Heights; sister, Theresa Wegienka of Romulus; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren with one on the way. Friends may visit in the Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home, Carleton Chapel on Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Funeral Services will be held at Carleton United Methodist Church on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 11:00 am. She will lie in state at church from 10:00 am until the service begins. Rev.

Taek Kim will officiate the service. Burial will be in Michigan Memorial Park, Huron Township, Michigan. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to the Carleton United Methodist Church.
