Helen’s Obituary TUSCALOOSA – Helen Jean Warren, age 92, of Tuscaloosa, Ala. , passed away on December 16, 2018, at Forest Manor Nursing Home. A family graveside service was held on December 19, 2018 at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Rev.

Tom Hammons presiding. Nephews were pallbearers. Jean was born on March 27, 1926, to R.R. and Lyda Cherry Warren in Scooba, Miss.

Her family moved to Alabama in 1936 and she graduated from Brookwood High School in 1944. Jean started her career working for D.O. McCluskey, Administrator at DCH. In 1948 she started working at the University of Alabama for Dean Lee Bidgood and later worked for Dr. O.C. Carmichael who was President of The University of Alabama.

She then worked in the office with President Frank Rose. Dr. David Mathews asked her to be his secretary and she worked for him until he left to go to The Kettering Foundation. The last 10 years of her 44-year UA career were at the University Law School working for Dean Nat Hansford, Dean Tom Jones and Dean Ken Randall.

She loved all of her years working for the University. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her sister, Eloise Palich; her brother, Thomas E. Warren (Dot) and her nephew, James Gregory Warren. Survivors include her brother, James R. Warren (Clara) of Tuscaloosa; nieces, Susan R. Jones (Jeff) of Navarre, Fla.

, Carolyn Hewitt (Dan) of Brookwood and Debbie Price (Charles) of Northport; nephews, John E. Palich (Krysta) of Brandon, Miss. , David R. Warren (Deana) and Jeffrey L. Warren both of Tuscaloosa, Randall Warren (Cindy) of Northport, Tommy Noland of McCalla, Ala. , and Timmy Noland (Christi) of Foley, Ala.

Surviving great-nephews are Brandon Warren, Russ Warren “BO”, Parker Warren (Shelby) all of Tuscaloosa, Jake Jones of Ft. Walton, Fla. , Nick Jones of Jacksonville, Fla.

, Ryan Jones (Carman) of Northport, Brad Warren, Anthony Warren (Amanda) both of Tuscaloosa and Randy Warren (Meaghan) of Huntsville. Great- nieces are Ashley Warren of Tuscaloosa, Karen Thomas (Jared) and Emily Lee (Ryan), both of Brandon, Miss. , and April Nash (Andy) of Ava, Mo.

; plus a host of great-great nieces and nephews all of whom she loved very much. The family would like to thank Forest Manor Nursing Home for the good care she received for three years.
