HELEN (BERCHOK) TANKOSIC Helen Tankosic, age 87 of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2018. She was born and grew up in Clairton, Pennsylvania, Helen Marie Berchok, one of four children of Michael Andrew Berchok and Helen (Gomolak) Berchok, Helen was a 1948 graduate of Clairton High School and became a Bank Teller working for Equibank and PNC at the Clairton, Century III and Elizabeth branches. She was the Treasurer for the Clairton Meals on Wheels and active with the Wilson and Clairton AARP Groups.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Tankosic in August of 1998 and a sister, Magdalene Berchok in September of 2010. Helen is survived by three children, George (Lynn) Tankosic, Jr of Mesa, Arizona, Timothy (Flavia) Tankosic of Los Angeles, California and Cathy (Gus Stuart) Tankosic of New York City, New York; two grandchildren, Lindsay and Angela Tankosic; a sister, Joan Berchok and brother, Michael (Barbara) Berchok, both of Jefferson Hills and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home (Large) in Jefferson Hills, where a Blessing Service will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 1 PM.

Father Stevan Rocknage of the St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, Hartman Street in McKeesport, Pennsylvania will officiate the service. Helen will be buried next to her husband in Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery in Pleasant Hills, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. If desired Helen’s family suggests donations to the Jefferson Hills Library 925 Old Clairton Road, Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 in her memory.
