Helen Nazemetz Buchanan, 96, of Sanford, NC passed away Saturday December 15, 2018 at Parkview Retirement Center. She was born April 29, 1922 in South Plainfield, NJ to the late Mary and John Nazemetz. Helen was preceded in death by her late husband’s Clyde Atkins and Riley Buchanan.

She was an active member of the Professional Women’s Club and served as the Secretary of the Foremen’s Club. Helen enjoyed swimming, cooking southern dishes, golf, sewing, and antique shopping. She is survived by her sister Viola Nazemetz of South Plainfield, NJ; a brother Walter Nazemetz of South Plainfield, NJ; her step-daughter Sharmin Arrington; and her friends JoAnn Kirkman and Carlos Biediger.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday December 19 at 1PM at Burke Memorial Park in Morganton, NC. Services are entrusted to Miller-Boles Funeral Home of Sanford.
