Colrain—Helen R. (Hodel) Peterson, 91, of Main Rd. died Thursday (11-8-18) at Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility in Greenfield. She was born July 2, 1927 in Bronx, NY the daughter of William and Lily (Fisher) Hodel.

Helen attended schools in New York. Helen moved to this area in 1961. She was a stay at home mom.

Then later in life she went to work for American Electric Cable Company of Holyoke as a purchaser and receiver. Then she went on to work for Connective Technology of Vermont retiring in 2002. She enjoyed her grandchildren, great grandchildren, board games and reading.

Helen leaves her children: Warren Peterson of Colrain, Heather Rahe of Stockton, MO, Judith Emrick of Ashfield and Karin Wilson of Hinsdale, NH. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Helen was predeceased by a son Martin II in 1978, her five sisters and her former husband Martin E. Peterson in 2000.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday November 17, 2018 from 1-3 pm at the Greenfield Lodge of Elks. 3-5 Church St. Greenfield MA 01301. Arrangements are under the direction of Kostanski Funeral Home.
