Helen’s Obituary Helen Niski Tomasetti, 88, a lifelong resident of Old Forge, died peacefully in her sleep Friday at her home. She was the widow of Donald J. Tomasetti, her loving husband of 52 years, who died on October 7, 2004. Born in Old Forge, daughter of the late John and Maryann Niski, she was a graduate of Old Forge High School, Class of 1947.

Helen was a faithful parishioner of Prince of Peace Parish, Old Forge. She was employed at Brooks Mfg. , Old Forge prior to her retirement.

Helen was a very independent woman who tended to her own yardwork up until her passing. It was something that she truly enjoyed to do in the Spring and Summer months. Her pet cats brought her much joy and pleasure over the years.

Helen would also take opportunities to travel to Arizona to visit her son; a trip she was fond of in the Winter months. Surviving are a daughter, Marianne Pagnotti, and husband Lou, of Plains; a son, Daniel Tomasetti, and wife Tami, of Apache Junction, AZ; a sister, Josephine Sharek, of Old Forge; three grandsons, Matthew and Joshua Tomasetti and Tyler Pagnotti; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert D. Tomasetti; a sister, Sophie Marhelski, and brothers, Chester, John, and Steve.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 9:15 AM from Ferri & Gillette Funeral Services, LLC, 522 Fallon St., Old Forge to Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 in St. Mary of the Assumption Church at Prince of Peace Parish, 123 W. Grace St., Old Forge to be celebrated by the Rev. August A. Ricciardi, pastor. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Old Forge, at a later date.

Family and friends may call Wednesday evening from 5 – 8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to either the Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, 974 Lockville Rd. , Dallas, PA 18612 (www.
