Obituary of Helen Alford Hendrick Helen Yvonne Alford Hendrick, 81, passed away Monday, March 11, 2019 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Born on July 5, 1937, in Goldsboro, NC, she was one of seven children born to the late Ivan Connie Alford and the late Rosa Lee Royal Alford. At an early age, Ms. Hendrick’s suffered the untimely loss of her parents and was placed in the Oxford Orphanage, in Oxford, NC, a place she called home for 11 years.

Ms. Hendrick was formerly employed with the Georgetown County School District and Georgetown Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed dancing, crossword puzzles, reading, TV game shows, drinking coffee and spending time with friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister, and her greatest love was her family.

Survivors include three children, Tim Hendrick (Anita) of Charlotte, NC, Terena Cook (Billy) of Georgetown and Belinda Hendrick of Georgetown; five grandchildren, Clay Cook (Kimberly) of Georgetown, Andrew Hendrick (Misty) of Waxhaw, NC, Will Cook (Leese) of Georgetown, Betsy Cusack (Frankie) of Georgetown and Joshua Ryan Janolis of Concord, NC; eight great grandchildren, Jordan Eaddy, McKinlee Eaddy, Raegan Cook, Colby Cook, Jace Cook, Sadie Cook, Ellesyn Cusack and Lane Cusack; two sisters, Shirley Alford of Venedy, IL and Connie Taylor of Stovall, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, William Joseph Alford; and three sisters, Edna Warren, Martha Davis and Lois McCracken. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday, March 15, 2019 at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
