Henry Allen Thomas OAKWOOD — Henry Allen Thomas, 73, of Oakwood died 2:42 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019 at his residence. He was born July 20, 1945 in Paulding to the late Clarence and Laura (Shafer) Thomas. On May 17, 1964 he married Kay Marie Skiver, who survives in Oakwood.

Also surviving are 2 sons: Bob (Stephanie) Thomas and Shane (Laura Lloyd) Thomas, both of Oakwood; 8 grandchildren: Kasey, Chelsei, Alexis, Dustin, Christopher, Daltan, Becca and Stephanie; 8 great-grandchildren; a sister: Ellen Bird of Continental; a brother: Dan (Brenda) Thomas of Oakwood; a brother-in-law: Randal (Deloris) Skiver of Defiance and a sister-in-law: Nelverta Skiver of Continental. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Rodney Thomas. Henry retired from General Motors, Defiance where he worked for 30 years.

He owned his own mowing service for nearly 30 years as well. He attended Dupont Church of the Brethren, Dupont. Henry served several years on the Paulding County Fair Board.

He raised horses and rabbits. In his younger years owned and drove dragsters. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2019 at the HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood with Rev.

Terry Porter officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Oakwood. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and again Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
