Henry “Hank” E. Fitzke, age 75, passed away in the care of Aspirus Wausau Hospital surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 25, 2018. He was born on October 22, 1942 in the Town of Maine to Elmer and Mildred (Strei) Fitzke. He married Ellen DeLand on July 25, 1964 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Wausau.

Hank worked 40 plus years at Shuette Movers as a house mover and crane operator. He retired to spend time with his children and grandchildren by helping them with 4-H projects, modifying lawnmowers, spending time with his favorite grandchild dog, Malla, and any other projects that came up. You could always count on him to help with anything that needed to be done.

Hank loved deer hunting, fishing, building houses, carpentry, playing cards and any other activities that kept him busy. His greatest love in his life was his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who would do anything for his family and friends.

All will miss him. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ellen; his children, Susan (Scott) Zilisch, Karrie (Jeffery) Smail and Kevin (Paula) Fitzke; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Kummerow, Phillip Zilisch, CeeJay Fitzke, Evan Smail, Jamie Fitzke, and Tiffany Smail; great-grandchild, Jordan Russell. He is further survived by his sister, Bernice Steidinger; and brother, Elmer Jr Fitzke; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Allen Fitzke. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Our Savior’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 703 Flieth Street, Wausau. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, July 30, 2018 at Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce Street, Wausau and again on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 10:00 am until the time of services at the church.

Entombment will be at Restlawn Memorial Park, Town of Texas.
