Henry’s Obituary Obituary Henry Cornell Steward was born February 6, 1946 in Austin (Travis County), Texas to Benjamin Steward and Velma Brown. He attended the public schools in the Austin area and enlisted in the United States Navy on November 3, 1965. During his active duty, Henry received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Commendation, Hospital Corp Class “A” School and the Field Medical Service School.

He was Honorably Discharged in October of 1969. Henry met and married Eliza R. Johnson and they have remained a loving couple until the Lord called him home. He was employed at the United States Postal Service until he retired.

On December 29, 2018 Henry Cornell Steward answered the Master’s Call and he is now reunited with his parents and a brother. He is survived by his loving wife, Eliza Ruth Steward; son, Larry Elliott; nephews, Herbert, Henry, Harold and Herschell Steward; nieces, Melinda, Millicent, Melissa and Muriel Steward; adopted brother, Dave Varnell and his wife, Tonya and a host of other relatives and friends.
