Herbert “Gene” Baker, 80, passed away May 19, 2018. Born in Ravenna, he lived most of his life in the Tallmadge/Ravenna area. Gene served in the U.S. Army Reserves and retired with 49 years of service as an Insurance Agent with the Gimbel Agency.

He enjoyed golfing and bowling. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Dortha Baker; son, Billy Hornick; sister, Phyliss. Gene is survived by his wife, Joan; daughters, Vicki (Myron) Perry of Virginia; Donielle Hopkins of Tallmadge; sons, Dan (Dawn) Baker of Wadsworth, Eugene (Terri) Baker of Tennessee, Pat (Jennifer) Baker of Mason, Paul (Jennifer) Baker of Mason, Greg (Tom) Baker of Ft.

Myers, FL, Richard Hornick of Kent; brothers, Raymond (Carol) Baker of Parkersburg, WV, Ron (Kathy) Baker of Ravenna; many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be 2:00 until 4:00 p.m., Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the Donovan Bagnoli Funeral Home, 339 Southwest Ave, Tallmadge. Memorial service will be following the visitation at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev.

Jim Case officiating.
